In Loving Me...

Tomorrow the man I called my Grandfather will be laid to rest. It saddens me to say that I did not know my Grandfather very well. Circumstances, beyond my control, inhibited my ability to know him on a deeper level. Regardless of the events that inhibited a relationship with him he will always be my Grandfather, a man deeply loved by many.
The relationship I had with my Grandfather is similar to the relationship many of us have with our heavenly Father. We acknowledge His presence in our lives, but due to extenuating circumstances we do not know our Father on a deep level. Over time, we stop trying to have a deeper relationship with Him, because it's difficult and requires us to give up ourselves to Him.

Saint Augustine once said, "In loving me, you made me lovable." Our Father does not just want to love us. He wants to make us LOVABLE. He, and He alone, loves us with such ferocity that we would not be able to contain all the love He has to give.

My Brothers and Sisters do not wait until it is too late to know your Father on a deeper level. He desires a relationship with you that cannot begin to be described using human terms. Willingly open your heart, soul, mind, and strength to Him and let Him show you how lovable you truly are. For you are His children the heirs to His Kingdom. He has laid the cornerstone, now it is your turn to build your relationship with Him.
